Start dancing and begin breathing life

Origins_Mohns

Maze was a very special project for us. Mohns is not just a musician, he also is a fellow filmmaker and director and even was even our lecturer at university a long time ago. So when he approached us we were really keen on creating something special.
The first time we heard the track we loved the openness, the urge to shake of everything that holds you back and just be in the moment. With our inner eye we saw images of vigorous sunlight, a dancing and freed handheld camera, and a protagonist that is completely free and expressing herself in her own world.

"Hear, the claps are fading. "

Although we really loved the track we did not love the budget. Financally we had to work with very little money. On the one hand this limited our options immensely but on the other hand opend the door to a workflow that just consisted of us, the sun, the location, our dancer Mariam and the song itself. We loved that we could completely concentrate on the feeling that Mariam expressed.
Further we had a work under hugh time pressure which also made us feel that the approach to keep the team and the whole technical aspect as small as possible the right choice.
All in all we are very happy with the final musicvideo and really enjoyed a project that was commited to transport just one feeling - being alive!
